How do I activate my EOS account and how long does it take?

EOS accounts are not created in the same way that Bitcoin addresses are, instead, they must be activated with EOS. Edge offers a service in the app to allow users to purchase EOS with Bitcoin or Litecoin in order to activate their accounts. Generally, accounts are activated ~30mins after the funding transaction receives a confirmation on the blockchain.
